Boutique Bed & Breakfast
The Best Location in Christchurch, NZ
YOUR HOSTS
Tony and Maree Taylor are true “Kiwis”. We were both born and educated in Christchurch, and have an intimate knowledge of the city and its history.
Tony
I retired in 2000 from our family business, originally founded by my great grandfather in 1875. As Christchurch had been established only 25 years earlier, Taylors Ltd was closely involved in the development of the city and subsequently became a major supplier of industrial plumbing supplies and mechanical engineering equipment to all major industries throughout New Zealand. Retirement now allows me to indulge my passions for both the history of New Zealand and enjoyment of the outdoors, all of which I enjoy sharing with B&B guests as well as guests booked through our touring programme, “The Worcester Personalised Tours”.
Maree
I have been involved in the cultural community in Christchurch for the past 30 years, as a fine art dealer and valuer. For many years I owned two galleries, one specialising in historical paintings and the other in contemporary works. Early New Zealand art has been a special interest, but I developed my extensive knowledge of contemporary art through many years of exhibiting works by practising artists. The Worcester now displays a wide variety of New Zealand art both from our own collection, as well as art for sale to guests.
We love Christchurch but have spent our holidays travelling the world, we may have even visited your home town.
Peggy
This is Peggy, our toy poodle, who very much enjoys the attention she receives from our guests.
